FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you located and what is your contact info: My address is 117 Aerial Drive, Canonsburg, PA 15317. I’m  about  30 minutes South of Pittsburgh. My Cell number is 724-575-0669 and my email address is askilpatrick@comcast.net.

How many packages do you have and what are your fees: See the “Prices” page.

How far will you travel: Within an hour’s drive time from my home. If it is outside an hour, arrangements can be made.

Do you shoot just weddings: 95% of my business is weddings but I have also photographed  Babies, Maternity, Seniors, Hotels, & School Sports.

Do you shoot Engagement Sessions:  Yes. I don’t have a studio (I operate out of my home) so any engagement session would be outdoors at a location of your choosing. See the “Engagement Sessions” page for more info.

What is your style of wedding photography: I like to shoot a wedding with a photojournalistic approach with a mix of formal and posed shots.  I think the best pictures are the ones that are captured candidly.  But, I’ll always adapt to the wants and needs of the couple so if you want a different approach to your wedding that can easily be done.

Do you shoot Film or digital: I am 100% digital.

What kind of equipment do you shoot with: I shoot with professional Canon equipment. I’ll have three camera bodies (Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 5D & Canon 40D) with me throughout the day, mostly for ease of shooting because I’ll have different lenses attached to each body but also for back-up purposes. If the church allows it, Elinchrom lighting equipment will be set up for your altar portraits with your family.

Do you bring assistants: Yes, I usually have two assistants with me.

What is your personality: This is a good question because we will be spending A LOT of time together on your wedding day! I am a very friendly and respectful person. I’ll never force my shooting style on you like some other photographers would. If you are not comfortable with a particular pose or are “pictured out” I will completely respect that. You can be assured that no other photographer will make you feel more special or comfortable on your wedding day.

How long have you been shooting weddings: I’ve been shooting weddings for 4 years.

Can I contact any of your past brides to learn more about you: All of the couples whose wedding’s I’ve photographed are available for you to speak to. Go to the “Wedding” page and select any couple you like, then email me their names and your request to speak to them and I will provide you their contact information. I also recommend you read the “Reviews” page.

How long after a wedding before the images are available: The images will be posted online anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the time of year. The images are linked through my site to Pictage. They actually host all my images and handle sales of prints. If you’ve never been to pictage.com before, you’ll have to sign the guest book the first time you try to view any images. You’ll need to enter your first name, last name, email address and a password of your choosing to set up your account. Your web browser should remember this information for the next time you log on.

How long will the images be online for: The images are posted for one year. After one year they will come offline.

How many picture will you take: I do not limit the amount of images I’ll take. Because of this you’ll have many great images to choose from when it comes time to select your wedding album images. My average is around 1,200 images for a full day of coverage.

Can I purchase the rights to the digital images: Yes. Some packages include the images but if you select a package that doesn’t have the images included, you can purchase them anytime.

What are your hours: As of right now I do not limit the hours I shoot. My day starts whenever you want me to start and ends around an hour before your reception ends. If you want me to stay until the end of the reception, I will do that at no extra charge.

Do you also do Videography: I have a Videographer that shoots weddings exclusively for me. If you are interested in getting a videographer for your wedding, let me know.

How long before my Wedding Album is delivered to me: After you make your selections, the album  takes 1-2 months for delivery.

Do I have input on the wedding album design: You will be the one to pick the pictures for the album. I’ll do the design and layout. When it’s finished you’ll be able to view it online, page by page to see exactly what it will look like. From that point, you’ll be able to make any changes you like by simply telling me what you’d like different. I’ll make the changes and you’ll be able to see the results right away. This way you can have the album exactly as YOU want it.

Do you re-touch the images: I shoot RAW images and correct each image for things such as Color, Contrast, Saturation, Clarity, Exposure, etc After those corrections are made then the images are transcoded into readable JPEGS which will be uploaded for online viewing. If you have a blemish that you want removed, you’ll need to let me know the day of the wedding and I’ll remove it from the important portraits and close up pictures. As of right now, I do not charge extra for this.

What are your “Digital Wedding Albums on DVD”: This is a DVD that is composed of anywhere from 2-8 chapters (a chapter is one song title) of images set to a slide show with music. The music selections can be of your choosing if you want. This is no ordinary slide show. I design these with a creative Storybook feel and spend a great deal of time bringing them to life. Each one is different. No two DVD’s are ever alike. A full 8 chapter show will run about 30 minutes and contain between 300-400 images. Additional DVD’s can be purchased for $40 and make great gifts for parents, bridal party and friends.
